This was a real problem i faced after upgraded wordpress from 2.8 to 2.9 :s. If I try to post a new post, I couldn’t find the publish button. I’m sure many of you facing same problem. same problem faced when upgraded from 2.7 to 2.8 also. Well wordpress neither 2.8 nor 2.9 having bugs in the original codes. It is all because of unsupported plugins to new versions. Let me tell how to solve this problem.
First you need to deactivate all the plugins installed. If you have many plugins installed then you may deactivate all from phpMyAdmin. I know you asking how to do it.
To disable all plugins using phpMyAdmin, login to your cPanel and click phpMyAdmin icon. After that, select your wordpress database that you want to alter.
According to Google, the PageRank given to a website suggests the website’s importance, and is computed from sites linking to a page. For instance, if PAGE A has a text link to PAGE B then PAGE B will be ranked higher as PAGE A is “voting” for PAGE B. However, although it seems very straightforward, many different factors are considered while calculating the PageRank (see partial list below). The page casting the vote will also be scrutinized by Google.
Google analyzes the webpage that has the text link to another website and looks at several essential qualities of the webpage. For instance, one of the most beneficial quality is the PageRank of the webpage that has the link to another website. The higher the PageRank of the “linker”, the higher the link will value. For example, if PAGE A has a PageRank of 5 and is linking to PAGE B. This link will be valued more as PAGE A has a high PageRank of 5. Whereas if PAGE A had a small PageRank of 2 then this link will not be valued as much. Another factor that is taken into consideration is the amount of links on a webpage. If PAGE A has only one link on the page, it will be valued much more than if it were to have five links on the page.
The Google PageRank is determined on the result of many factors. Some of the main ones are:
| · | Anchor text of inbound link to you | · | Site Map |
| · | Age of Link | · | keywords in anchor text |
| · | Popularity of referring page | · | Site Size – fewer pages preferred, due to proliferation of computer-generated pages |
| · | Number of outgoing links on referrer page | · | Site Theming |
| · | Position of link on referrer page | · | Page traffic – # of visitors, trend |
| · | Keyword density on referring page | · | Page Selection Rate – How often is a page clicked on? |
| · | HTML title of referrer page | · | Time spent on page |
| · | Link from “Expert” site? | · | Did user Bookmark page? |
| · | Referrer page – Same theme | · | Bookmark add/ removal frequency |
| · | Referrer page – Different theme | · | How they left, where they went |
| · | Site listed in DMOZ Directory? | · | Site Traffic |
| · | DMOZ category? | · | Referrer – Authoritative referrer? |
| · | Site listed in Yahoo Directory? | · | Keyword – Keyword searches used to find you |
| · | Site listed in LookSmart Directory? | · | Time spent on domain |
| · | Site listed in inktomi? | · | Domain Registration Time -Register for 5 years, Google knows you are serious. |
| · | Site listed in other directories (About, etc.) | · | Are associated sites legitimate? |
| · | Site Age | · | Prior Site Ranking |
| · | Site Directory – Tree Structure |
PS: This post I made after reading several articles and credit goes to all those authors.
I moved my this blog to new host few weeks ago. But i was having problem with uploading media. What happened is I was trying to upload images to my blog post when I kept getting errors to make sure that the permissions where set correctly on my uploads directory and that the folders were all writable. I then realized that after moving my hosting to MediaTemple my absolute path to my WordPress upload directory had changed. You also may come across this error situation and this will helpful to solve it.
So, to fix the problem you have to simply navigate to Settings >> Miscellaneous in your WordPress Dashboard and then change the path to where your uploads folder is located.
If you don’t know what the absolute path to your WordPress directory is, it seems as if the relative path works just as well. So for instance, if your blog is hosted on your own domain, something like www.yourdomain.com, your relative path to your WordPress uploads directory would be something like this:
wp-content/uploads
and your absolute path would be something like this (on most web hosts, but not all): But actually you don’t need to enter anything and leave it as blank. In my case this absolute path was set according to my previous host. So i just deleted that and now it working fine.
/home/yourusername/wp-content/uploads

Once you change that option in your WordPress admin area, uploading should start working again

This is a simple guide will be helpful to novices those who want to develop and host own website. I will post this guide in parts such as How to create a website using Adobe Dreamweaver, Getting a domain name, Find a web host, Configuring DNS settings to domain name, Uploading the site to web host using ftp etc…
This guide will provide only the basic necessary details. You need to study further if you plan todevelop and host rich professional websites. Now first let’s create a simple website using, Adobe Dreamweaver CS3.
How to create a simple website using Dreamweaver CS3
Adobe Dreamweaver Creative Suite 3 (CS3), formerly known as Macromedia Dreamweaver, is a fully-featured commercial web editor that allows you to create, build and manage complex websites. The editor is a What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get (WYSIWYG) web editor, which means that you can design your web page visually and whatever you see on the screen is what your visitors will see when they visit your website. Dreamweaver generates standards-compliant code for your website which means your website will not become “broken” every time a new version of a web browser is released. For the technically inclined, the HTML and CSS code that it creates for your website will validate correctly.
If you don’t have Adobe Dreamweaver installed on your pc, you can download it from here.

This post will be very useful to webmasters to help keep your visitors even though the requested page not found in your website. This kind error occurs due to
- The web pages renamed
- Visitors typed wrong url (Eg: http://www.nibu.me/cusm.htm instead of http://www.nibu.me/custom.html) etc…
In this post i can explain how to change or create the “.htacess” and process this purpose. The “.htaccess” file is what Apache web servers use to allow you to fine-tune your web server configurations at a directory level. Other types of web servers handle the customization of 404 error pages differently. So this post only will helpful to the webmasters those who hosted their site on Apache webservers.
Creating/Modifying the .htaccess File
This step may not be necessary in all situations. Some web hosts already configure their web server so that it will look for a specific file in your web directory when a certain document cannot be found. If so, simply skip this step.
We all know that the powerful search engine is Google. If we know the correct method of searching in Google then we can find the correct resource on the internet without wasting our time. Do you know that there are lots of searching techniques that are hidden or not documented and only experts know that. With few training & effort even you can know these simple tricks. I found some and sharing with you all.
- Use double quotes to get the exact search. A google of “sri lanka” will give you all pages containing the exact text, remember google is a text search engine, to simply put it, it stores web pages as text, so the smart way you search for the text you will get results accordingly. So if you searched for sri lanka, you will get all pages containing sri and lanka, but if you search in double quotes you get exact pages.so
“sri lanka” gives exact results
while
sri lanka gives different results.
try it out yourself. the search results are always highlighted. -
Use the standard keywords in your search. By standard keywords means ‘AND’ ‘OR’
Default setting for google is ‘AND’. So if you specify ‘sri lanka’ it means by default ‘sri’ AND ‘lanka’. If you want your results to give either sri or lanka, then specify ‘sri OR lanka’

Blog an abbreviated form of the word weblog; that is to say a series of posts presented by date, much like an online diary. The majority of blogs are plain text, but video and photo blogs are out there as well. Blogs themselves are relatively simple, but to set one up you’ll need to learn some of the technical aspects; you’re going to need a web host, a domain and a platform.
